Tri-x 400 pushed to 1600. Not my Photo.

I’m so excited! This will be my first roll of 35mm in twenty years and it will be my first roll of B&W. First thing I want to do is push it to 1600 and run through the whole roll and then develop it myself.

As for why I posted this here and not the photography sub-blog is things get slow over there and I feel like I’m spamming it.

SO EXCITED!!!

Nice! Sorry, this is about color Kodak film but it’s the best I could do on short notice. Ignore the bit about everything looking worse in B&W.

Tri-x is one of my favorite films! I don’t shoot film but I love the way it renders!

I know! I’ve been staring at all this B&W film being pushed from 400 to 1600 and I’ve got the itch. My wife has a Canon A-1 with a 50mm 1.8 and a 24mm 2.8 and I’ll be running it through that. I just found out B&H takes paypal so I went ahead and ordered some Ilford HP5+ 400 and some Kentmere 400 to try out as well. I also got a developer tank and the developer and fixer chemicals. I AM SO EXCITED!!! I’m thinking of going to the Air Force Museum in Dayton to try it out. I’ve lived in southern Ohio for 10+ years and I’ve never been there.

These were my favorites from the roll of Tri-X I recently shot through my F4. For christmas, I got a roll of it to go with the Canon AE-1 Program that I got my brother. And right now I have some Ilford Delta 400 waiting to get developed... I need to start developing my own.

Yeah developing film isn’t difficult. All you need is your developer and a good fixer. I got Kodak D76 developer and Photographers’ Formulary TF-4 fixer. All you need to do is add water. I got a paterson tank to develop the negatives in and some sleeves to store them in. The downside is I’m not equipped to make prints or to scan negatives so I’ll probably go to walgreens or somewhere to get some rough scans until I either get a film scanner or an enlarger.

I also got some HP5+ and some Kentmere 400 I’m going to try as well.

Tri-X was the best. Quick tip, try it at 800 for best results.

I don’t know, I really love the high contrast high grain look of the 2 stop push. I also ended up ordering some Kentmere 400 and HP5+ 400. I’m thinking about running the Tri-x and HP5+ both at 1600 and then try the Kentmere at 800 or 400.
